This course will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to spreadsheets. This software program referred to and used in this course is Microsoft Excel. However, if you do not have a subscription to the Microsoft Office programs, you may still take this course. You can download a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office, for free, at this link: https://products.office.com/en-us/excel
You may also use another spreadsheet software of your choice. For example, Google Sheets is available to anyone with a Gmail account, which you may create for free here: https://accounts.google.com/SignUp
Last, remember that most colleges, universities, and some public libraries offer public computer stations with at least one spreadsheets program ready for you to use.
The course will explore the following fundamental topics: an introduction to spreadsheets, terminology in Excel, components of a spreadsheet, what a cell consists of, and the creation of a spreadsheet for practical use. You will examine sample files, videos, and books that will enable you to gain practical knowledge about spreadsheets that can be used in daily life, either at work, school, or home.
